COVID-19 Update

As you have probably been wondering, will there be programs this year?

Our number one goal is to provide a safe environment for everyone. Due to the current pandemic and implications of COVID-19, we are postponing all 2020 burn survivor programs.

What does that mean? We will not host programs in person but that does not mean we will not have ways to come together online!  We are hosting online chats twice a month exploring different topics impacting burn survivors as well as discussing the current pandemic experience. You can join us live by joining our mailing list or watch recordings on our Youtube Channel.

We are also moving Give Burns The Boot online and increasing the Investment Credit Program to 20%, for more details visit https://www.gfbf.org/fire-service/virtual-boot-drive/.

It has been a struggle for me to be isolated during this “stay-at-home” experience; it takes me back to past traumas of hiding in the house as a burned injured child. It is interesting how a common enemy creates connectedness, and even though we are separated, I believe we are more together than we have ever been. What I do know is HOPE is greater than despair and FAITH always triumphs over fear.

We are here for YOU! Our first priority is the health, well-being, and safety of the burn survivor community, staff, volunteers, stakeholders and the public interest. Please reach out to us at 404-320-6223 with questions, concerns, or just to say hello.
