Project R.E.A.C.H.
The Georgia Firefighters Burn Foundation also implements Project R.E.A.C.H. (Recycling Every Aluminum Can Helps), a year-round aluminum can recycling program conducted in cooperation with Georgia fire departments and other businesses and organizations, which serve as drop-site locations for the collection of empty aluminum cans for recycling.
The GFBF has been involved in the recycling of aluminum cans since the summer of 1986. In addition to being a major source of revenue for the Foundation, Project R.E.A.C.H. is also instrumental in keeping millions of cans out of area landfills. During the 22 years that the Foundation has been sponsoring Project R.E.A.C.H., it has recycled more than three million pounds of aluminum. That translates into a lot of cans being kept out of Georgia landfills!!!
