CHESNEY GRANT
Brant Chesney Memorial Fire & Burn Prevention Grant Program

CONSIDERATIONS

The following will be considered by the Committee when determining priority of grant award recipients:

1) Departments should demonstrate efficiency in using funds wisely.

2) Departments are encouraged to use creative approaches and include necessary components of an effective prevention program.

3) Use of GFBF grant funds in combination with funds from donations and other sources is encouraged but not required.

4) Departments should expand proven successful programs to new areas when possible.

5) Joint efforts among groups and organizations are encouraged.

6) Departments are encouraged to make effective programs available to other departments.

7) The Department's participation in GFBF fund-raising activities is considered.

8) Priority will be given to new funding requested as opposed to repeat funding requests. Requests will be considered "repeat" if they are submitted within a five-year period of receiving funds from this grant program.  Repeat funding request will be considered only if required reporting was completed in a timely manner on prior funding.

TOPICS

Programs funded through this grant program may include, but are not limited to: scald burns, smoke detectors, E.D.I.T.H., kitchen safety and home heating, youthful fire setting, and/or any new program that meets the mission of the GFBF.
